Scott Meyer; Producer/Director
Scott Meyer has been a film maker for over 25 years but his passion for the entertainment industry started long before that. At the age of 15, Scott’s family built a Las Vegas type showroom in Kansas City, Mo. The Gold Buffet restaurant sat 2,100 people and was host to such acts as Red Skelton, Foster Brooks, Rowan and Martin, The Oakridge Boys, Mel Tillis, and Jerry Lee Lewis to name a few. Recognized as being gifted in the technical area, Scott’s father soon realized that he could hire his son to oversee the operations of the sound and lighting systems as easily as any of the local professionals and thus Scott’s passion for the arts began.
At the age of 25 Scott moved to New York City, where he began his career in the film industry. Working initially in commercials, Scott worked in the art department for Directors Bob Fosse, Steve Horn, Tony Lover and Norman Seeff. In the late 80’s, he moved to New Orleans and was on staff for the City’s number one production company; Burning Productions before moving to Los Angeles.
“I love the art of film making because great film making can only be accomplished as a collaborative effort and often times it is the journey itself that is as rewarding as the results. I have had the great fortune of working with some of the most creative minds of my time, and for that I am thankful.”

In 1988 Scott landed a job with one of the top 10 commercial production companies at that time; Dexter’s Studios. “Working for Ron Dexter was like getting paid to be in school, Ron could make anything from scratch and it was an honor to work side by side with such a film maverick on so many one-of-a-kind projects.” Developing his skills as a film technician, Scott and Ron built the first set of focal plane pitching lenses and then showed the idea to Denny Clairmont who built the Slant Focus lenses that are commonly used today. Scott also built a unique Luz Motion machine which synchronized a powerful strobe system with Arri film cameras.
Throughout the next fifteen years Scott produced and directed commercials, films, corporate videos and infomercials for a myriad of companies that can be viewed on his commercial website; www.ScottFilms.com.
In 1999, long before YouTube, Scott along with a collogue, Rich de Gout, built NetSeminer.com, a production facility for the electronics industry, guided by the vision of Rob Rodin, then President of Marshall Industries. During the next three years Scott personally produced and directed over a thousand live interactive global events and multi-camera broadcasts via the internet for clients including: Intel, Sprint, IBM, Cisco, NEC, Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies. These events include educational seminars, product announcements, news broadcasts, business analysis, technical training, live tradeshow presentations, distance learning, and editorial roundtables.
“It seems I have always been blessed to be on the cutting edge of technology and innovation. Exploring the unknown is exhilarating and can bring out the best in people if they are willing to let go if their old paradigms. I often think that everything that I have experienced in life prior to this moment has prepared me to be successful in the new day.”
Scott’s grandfather Burr Nickle was famous in the 20s for his silent film Wonders of The Wild, which opened on Broadway for 5 cents and received rave reviews. It has always been a desire for Scott to produce feature films, to that point he is opening this new division of his company to pursue that dream. Scott is currently in early development on both a feature film and a television series.
